Music video log *1st and 2nd October 2012*

The music video we made, had a girl with a unicorn hat who did the lip synch. The rest of us danced with things we found in the room like an umbrella, a tripod and a spring. We filmed for half the song and we reversed the film for the second half of the song. I used idiot and classic dance move to make people laugh also to make the music video bit more comedy.  We used the 2 long shots and one of two long shots was about focus a girl with a unicorn hat who did the lip synch with mid shot and other long shot was showing you the girl who was sat on the table and the dancers were behind her with wide shot. Some things were not very good because we didn’t have enough time to film so we made 2 shots. If we going to make another film then we would to take more shots than before and use another location to go filming.  We would use more techniques of camera work.  I think the music video needed to improve for contrast colour, beat style and dancers needed stay in the scene bit longer.

Scott (Tutor) had CDs about 5 to 7 CDs so I chose CD name “1” however Ginny in my group, had other CD name “6”. We decided to take these two CDs for finding out which songs was better or easy for lip-sync. We chose CD, 1 over CD, 6 because the song “Globe alone” with fast and slow speed version from CD, 1 sounded great. Ginny send the song “Globe alone” with slow version into her phone from Mac by Bluetooth however Mac’s Bluetooth failed to connect her phone. So I decided to use my laptop to fix the Bluetooth problem. My laptop connected Ginny’s phone successfully however the loading process seems slow because the song size was 54 MB.  We went to other different classroom for filming so Ginny’s phone speaker was not good enough to make louder also the song was bit too fast for lip-sync. We put the song into editing to make the song a bit slower however Ginny seemed struggled looking for speed effect. So I told her to click-right on the video and then the menu pop up. I point on where the speed effect was and she found Speed effect on it.  We had finishing editing the song so we could start to film.  Ginny told me to do silly thing or dance in the background so I had ideas for dancer moves. I used idiotic moves, famous classic moves, weird moves and comedy moves when I was dancing and I used the an umbrella and a tripod to combine with idiot moves, famous classic moves, weird moves and comedy moves to make music video more comical.  After we finished filming, we imported the videos into Final cut pro X software. I watched Ginny and Danny editing because I wanted to make sure if they needed any help and we finished editing the music video.
